Fedora Governance Elections - Community Nominations

Hi Everyone,
Hope you’re having a nice week so far. We are excited to announce today that we are beginning the nomination process for Fedora Governance Elections. We are seeking nominations from the community for the following available seats: 2 seat(s) for Community Members. To ensure diverse and equal opportunities for participation in the Governance Group, we hold seats for community members who do not financially support Fedora through membership. This includes individuals who are active in the community in other capacities, who wish to become more actively involved, or those interested in future planning for Fedora.
Participation in Fedora Governance provides you the opportunity to become a liaison between our community and associated stakeholders while helping to establish the following:
- Principles & goals for the program as a whole
- Strategic direction and product roadmap
- Sustainability planning
- Means of conducting operations
- Management decision framework
As per a decision made in March 2022, Leadership and Steering Governance groups were combined into one consolidated Governance Group for 1 calendar year. As a result, the following nominations and elections will be for the consolidated Governance Group and elected individuals will serve a 2-year term beginning in September 2022.

Joining Fedora Governance is a great opportunity to get involved with the community and have a direct impact on the future of the program. We need the support of members like yourselves to ensure that Fedora is represented by our global community of users. Previous experience with Governance, or a strong technical understanding of Fedora is not a prerequisite for participation. All voices are welcome at the table and we encourage those from diverse backgrounds to consider joining us.
