Hi All,

I hope everyone has had a great week so far.  It’s so hard to believe that it’s already passed the middle of January! Busy start to the new year.

The Hyrax Fedora 6 Working Group began meeting again this week and have a few updates to share from our first meeting of 2024.

Full meeting minutes can be found on our wiki page here: https://samvera.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/samvera/pages/2208333826/Hyrax+Fedora+6+Working+Group

Some highlights include:

  • There has been significant work on testing Sirenia, with 85% tests passing
    • There has been a topic added to the Dev Congress Topics List for further investigation next week.
      • Please consider signing up and getting involved in some way!
    • The output of the Dev Congress work will help establish work that is left to complete to consider this a “valid working connector”
  • Fedora 6.5 is scheduled for released before the end of Feb.
  • Following completion of the outstanding Sirenia tests, the WG will turn their focus on performance testing for Hyrax 5 + Fedora 6.x

If you, or anyone at your institution is interested in any of these topics or have the capacity to participate in testing, documentation or even sharing your use case for Hyrax and Fedora, please reach out to myself (arran.g...@lyrasis.org) or Heather (hea...@samvera.org) and we will make sure you are in touch with the correct people. We welcome any interested individuals.

Best of luck to all participating in the Dev Congress next week. I look forward to following along with the outputs. Enjoy your weekends.

Cheers,

Arran
