The AI Discussions Working group is pleased to announce a second Solutions Showcase for May

We are welcoming Christine Kim, the Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships, at the Mozilla Data Collective (MDC), who will share info on this new initiative from Mozilla. MDC is a new initiative from Mozilla designed to give people and communities more control over how their data is accessed and used in AI ecosystems. If you have not heard of this project, I encourage you to sign up for this event to see how it is changing the face of data ownership in the face of AI.

Details:

Date: Wednesday, May 27th, 2026

Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm Eastern

Location: Zoom - https://lyrasis.zoom.us/meeting/register/NnvSGv3KRJaj8g11b-Mf7g

To read more about our presenter, and find more details about the Solutions Series check out our wiki space: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/cmtygp/Solutions+Showcase

Also don’t miss out on tomorrow’s Showcase (Wed., May 13 @ 9am Eastern), featuring LibLynx’s Bot Filter. Registration is still open: https://lyrasis.zoom.us/meeting/register/3nhNv8SCTAOzG_cB5YCXOA

The Solutions Showcase Series is organized by the AI Discussions Working Group, a collaborative initiative that emerged from shared concerns about the impact of AI-driven web harvesting on academic institutions. While our initial focus was on academic repositories, we’ve since expanded our scope to include all corners of the GLAM sector.

Have a solution to share?
We’re actively looking for additional presenters! If your institution has addressed AI bot scraping in a creative or effective way, we’d love to feature your work. Please reach out to Arran Griffith at arran.g...@lyrasis.org to book a presentation slot.

Warm regards,
Arran Griffith, on behalf of The AI Discussions Group
