Are you a community manager for an open source project in the library ecosystem? Do you work in a library implementing, supporting, and developing open source systems? Do you volunteer with an open source project? Do you work for a library service provider hosting and supporting open source library systems?

If any of the questions above apply to you and you’d like an opportunity to share what your project and community is currently doing to meet the needs of today’s libraries, then this message is for you!

The Open Source Systems Interest Group invites participants to its upcoming Open Source Community Fair to be held during Core’s Interest Group Week. Each participant of the Open Source Community Fair would be expected to provide a brief (i.e., 5-10 minute) presentation exhibiting the various solutions the open source project provides and the benefits of participating in the project’s community. Presenters will have the option to pre-record their presentations to be shown during the event. Those who pre-record are requested to attend the event to share any additional information in the chat/q&a and answer questions members of the audience may have.

The event will take place via Zoom on Monday, March 7th at 12:00 PM (CST). Applicants who are interested in participating in the Open Source Community Fair should send an email with relevant details to James Mitchell (jrmit...@ou.edu) or Robert Wilson (robert...@mtsu.edu), the Open Source Systems Interest Group Co-Chairs by no later than January 31, 2022. Proposal details should include: preferred name, preferred pronouns, open source community/project name, URL to project. Questions may also be directed to James Mitchell and Robert Wilson using the emails provided above.
