Happy Monday. I hope you have had a nice summer so far. Today, on behalf of the Fedora Program, we’re excited to announce that nominations are now open for the Fedora Governance Elections. This term, we have 2 available seats for Community members, and we would like to extend the invitation for you to participate. Any and all Fedora users are eligible to run for these seats - we strongly encourage participation from individuals of all skill levels. Deep Fedora technical knowledge is not required.

Serving on Fedora Governance is a chance to shape the future of the program. Not just to weigh in, but to help lead. As a Governance member, you'll act as a strategic liaison between our community and broader stakeholders, helping to establish:
Elected members will serve a 2-year term, from September 2026 through August 2028, with no term limits on Governance representation.

This is a genuine opportunity to engage in an open-source project that serves institutions around the world, and act as a leader, guiding and shaping the direction of the program. Our goal is to ensure Fedora continues to reflect the needs of its global community. Previous Governance experience or deep technical knowledge of Fedora isn't required; all voices are welcome at the table, and we especially encourage nominations from those with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
