Hi Everyone,
Happy Friday! Before we roll into the weekend, I wanted to share an incredible user story with you from a new community member who is working on a project in Africa.
I recently met Yakub Damola Yakub, who is the Global Programs and Press Director from an organization called
Global Students Nest.
Yakub (virtually) came to Fedora Camp in Vienna to speak about his project "Preserving Community Knowledge and Expanding Educational Access in Pan-African Rural Communities”,
sharing his story about using a Fedora-based repository to preserve and protect cultural heritage materials from rural African communities.
This year’s
International Open Access Week ran from October 20–26, highlighting the theme
“Who Owns Our Knowledge?”. Inspired by that question, Yakub and I partnered to create a digital showcase of his project to share with the community. Today I am thrilled to share the final result with you.
A special thank you to Yakub for his time, helping to put this digital showcase together. We look forward to learning more about your work and watching the project progress. Welcome
to the Fedora community!
Cheers,
Arran
