to Fedora Community

Dear Fedora Community,

The Lyrasis CST Interoperability Project is soliciting input on community integration ideas for Fedora. Through this project Lyrasis is supporting Fedora, and the other Community Supported Technologies (CST) at Lyrasis, by defining, and eventually implementing, new integrations or other ideas related to interoperability that will expand their potential adoption. Although we originally =envisioned this project as being development of specifications for integrations, ultimately the goal of the project is to increase the adoptability and supporting user bases of these projects while also contributing to an expanding connected open ecosystem. I am collecting ideas for what an interoperability solution should look like, then evaluating and proposing the solution to the community based on my analysis of the feedback you’ve shared. To get involved, please take these steps!

  1. Fill out the survey by Jan. 15th to shape the future of this interoperability project.

  2. Join the conversation to refine ideas and define user behaviors. You can choose from two spaces or follow both; updates will be provided to keep information in sync.

    1. GitHub Issues (requires a GitHub account)

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback in the past month! I met with Fedora Governance and had the chance to discuss interoperability with attendees of the Fedora showcase.

Please consider filling out the survey and sharing it with colleagues who are users of Fedora. The survey gives users and other stakeholders an opportunity to prioritize interoperability solutions.

For more background on the Interoperability project, please see the Lyrasis blog post and our project website.
