Hi All,
Forwarding this interesting opportunity along to our community. Each year iPres hosts it’s annual Bake Off, and as we continue to expand our user base, it would be very cool to see some of you showcasing your preservation workflows and processes with the rest of the iPres community! See below for all the details!

The Bake-Off event invites users to come and demonstrate their digital preservation workflows and/or the tools they are using to support digital preservation using an “ingredient pantry” (ie. a set of demo data made available to all participants), then delivering the final product - a securely preserved data set! This is the perfect opportunity to highlight and show off the workflows you have built and provide real-world examples of the ways you are using Fedora to support long-term preservation!

We would LOVE to see our users in this session! If you are considering attending iPres, or wanted a purpose to go, this is a great opportunity! We are happy to help with any submission criteria and can support in any way you might need. Just let us know.

And if you are already planning to attend iPres 2026, we also want to hear from you! Keeping track of where our community members are can help us connect you with others and draw attention to your work if you are presenting. So let us know!

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Arran

Subject: iPRES 2026 Bake Off (Tools Demonstration): Call for Contributions

Dear all,

Calling all technical whisk-takers; the iPRES 2026 Ad Hoc Programme is now open!

There are several categories available in the AdHoc programme, including The Great Digital Preservation Bake Off, which returns to iPRES 2026 (September 21-25 in Copenhagen). Whether you're a seasoned baker or a first-timer, we want to see your tools in action.

This year, we are recruiting for two tracks: the Signature Home Bake and the Showstopper Pro Bake. The submission deadline is June 8th, 2026. Submit via: https://forms.gle/K2WiG81RWB5E75hi9.

Participants will demonstrate how their tools address real-world challenges in digital preservation. Both seasoned and emerging tool developers have the opportunity to serve up and demonstrate the value and effectiveness of their digital preservation tools in a short, timed presentation. Please note that there is no actual baking at the Bake Off.

Submit your Bake Off proposal via the online form by 8 June 2026, End of Day, Anywhere on Earth.

🍳 Open Kitchen Hours — Come Ask Us Anything!
Not sure which track is right for you? Curious about the Pantry? Just want to know what on earth a Showstopper Pro Bake actually involves? Join us for Open Kitchen Hours on May 22nd — an informal, open Zoom session where the organising committee will be on hand to answer your questions.

We're running two sessions to accommodate different time zones:
No need to prepare anything — just bring your questions (and maybe a snack).

Best wishes,
The Great Digital Preservation Bake Off Organising Committee

Hi All,
Sending this along to all Fedora community members as something to consider! We love talking about Fedora and its individual, and unique use cases, but what we love even more is when our actual users go out and share their work with the broader community!

The iPres Preservation Bake Off is the perfect opportunity to share your digital preservation workflows with the preservation community to help others learn from your experiences! This fun way to share how you prepare and handle your content for long-term preservation within your institution! Please consider sharing your work at the iPres Great Digital Preservation Bake Off!

Would love to see some Fedora representation there!
Cheers,
Arran

Greetings,

A friendly reminder that the Great Digital Preservation Bake Off demonstrations must be submitted by June 8, EOB. There's still time to donate to the pantry as well!

Thanks,
Nathan
