This is a big update!  I've been working with Eric Lin to move most of the FED3 functions into a library.  The idea is to have FED3 handle most of what it does (monitoring pokes, logging data, updating screen) in a library behind the scenes, and users can focus on just coding their behavioral tasks.

It's not done but it is at a point where it's ready for testing.  You can see it in action here.

If you're interested in testing this out or helping with this please get in touch and I can share it with you!

Would love to try it! I'd like to see if I can put together a cue-based discrete trial setup (likely combining multiple fixed feeding times + FR5) in attempt to see if I can get some home cage habit training. This sounds like it would be a good time to give it a shot - let me know how to get in touch!

Thanks Lex!

We're interested in developing a pavlovian task and this would be really helpful.

best,

Andrew

Great!  I've pushed the library to the GitHub site with some simple instructions on how to install it.  Once you have it installed in the Arduino IDE you can use the code examples to get started.  Please let me know if you are able to install it and get it running!
