Hi Everyone, I am planning a feeding experiment and I want to use isopad in the cages, instead of regular bedding, as it would help us to collect the crumbles. However, it looks like mice tend to rip it up (see pictures).

does anyone see this too with his/her mice and which pads and cages are you using?

these are the measurements of our cages:

Cage Outside Dimensions
13.5” (34.3 cm) L x 11.5” (29.2 cm) W (front) x 6.1” (15.5 cm) H

Cage Floor Area
75 square inches (484 square centimeters)

Thank you!

Yes we use these and the mice definitely rip them up often to form more nesting material. We haven't had any problem with it getting into the FEDs like normal bedding, though.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Ames, thank you for your answer. We are planning to use regular food (not the FED device) which I am afraid will be lost in the bed they create. Do you have any thoughts?

Thank you!

We use isopads a lot and the mice shred them up and use them as bedding (they pads are designed to do this).  If there is food in the cage the mice will find it though!
