Does anyone have a version of the 3D design modified so that it can accept the 6600mAh battery pack?

Hi Sunny, the bigger battery is compatible but the bottom cover will not close with that 6600mAh battery. You will likely need to edit the 3D design to fit it.
But we often run multi-week experiments with FED3. We keep extra batteries charged with these little LiPo chargers and just swap a fresh battery in after ~7 days while we're topping up the pellets. Will that work for you?

Hi Yuhui.
The battery is compatible, although it will take longer to charge.
Cheers.

Hi everyone,
I am using FED3 for long-term experiments (longer than a week), so I am thinking to switch the batteries of FED from original 4400mAh ones to 6600mAh ones (https://www.adafruit.com/product/353), so that we could minimize the frequency to change batteries. But I'm not sure if this battery is compatible with FED (I'm new to Arduino devices), and whether some code/scripts need to be changed when switching to this battery with higher capacity. Does someone have some idea on that?
Best,
Sunny

Hi!I was wondering why are you changing the batteries at all. we also run experiments with FEDs lasting more than a month, but we recharge all the units simultaneously while they are running and we have never had a problem with batteries.
Best.
