We just released StatusNet 0.9.5 which (amongst other additions), adds
what we feel is a SWAT0-ready implementation of OStatus. Checkout our
full announcement (and a demo screencast) here:
http://status.net/2010/09/10/statusnet-is-ready-for-swat0-testing
We are pretty excited to start testing with other OStatus
implementors, as well as seeing what other folks have come up with for
SWAT0.
If you're interested in OStatus-specific implementations, testing,
hammering through issues, etc - please use the OStatus mailing list -
http://groups.google.com/group/ostatus-discuss .
As the kids say.... w00t! :-)

Just to clear up any confusion, would you guys mind laying out the
protocol requests involved in making this happen?

I'd also like to know some details and how it compares to the strawman here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryjoe/4884073970/

The big difference is that, when Evan* comments, his server sends a Salmon slap to Dave's server. Everyone's pretty cool with that one.
We juggled around some options and figured the easiest thing was to send an additional slap to Tantek's machine. We now slap anyone who's mentioned in an activity that's replied to.
Cause we're slap-happy folks.
Anyways, I believe the strawman you gave has Evan's notice going out from Dave's server to Tantek's.
I personally got a little confused with this -- is Tantek subscribed to an additional feed just for comments, like in http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4685#section-4 ?
Or do those activities come through Dave's "regular" activity feed?
I think we're OK with different solutions -- this one just seemed like the easiest to get out the door.

Hoping my WebID peeps will be set so that we can do this across
different WebID compliant platforms (rather than multiple instances of
one platform e.g. ODS).
Pingback instead of Salmon Slap.
PubSubHubbub for relaying changes.
Pingback for know reciprocation (so we can actually start at -1 i.e.
getting to know one another across social webs ).
Its coming, and will certainly beat 30th Sept deadline.
Only variable (right now) is whether its going to be across many ODS
instances (not my preference as per comments above) or multiple WebID
platforms from other WebID players :-)

Great work guys! After checking out your screencast we have a couple questions around the final portion of the SWAT exchange; specifically how/why Tantek received Evan's response to Dave. Just to clear up any confusion, would you guys mind laying out the protocol requests involved in making this happen?
And Tuomas says ... Cheers status.net !

8 hours ago. I just did not catch walkah from the irc channel last
night anymore.
I'll post a mail when the initial tests have been done.

Yeah, it was my first intention that the two status.net accounts would
have been in separate services. Of course I somehow managed to forgot
it and remembered it only when I had uploaded the video.
Maybe I can play and try to add those fancy comments to the videos ...
