It would bemore helpful to recognize that the term dictionary" isapplied very widely, to many types of information resources, and todeal with the different categories of reference sources that includethe word dictionary" in the title, or are organized in adictionary format. Many subject areas or disciplines, such asliterature, music, political science and the social sciences, dealwith complex terms or concepts that are arguably more than simplywords" that must be defined. A broader understanding ofdictionary", together with examples from some of thesedisciplines, would strengthen this section.
