In a week,
the People’s Climate Marches in Australia will kick off a global wave
of action right around the world. People everywhere will stand
together, peacefully and powerfully, and show we are determined to
create a brighter future.
At the same time, world leaders will unite in Paris for the UN
climate summit. Sadly, the French government has just announced that
because of the recent tragedy, the march planned for Paris cannot go
ahead.
So it’s up to all of us, outside of Paris, to take to the
streets. We’ll make the voices of the people reverberate all the way
to the cobbled Parisian streets where our world leaders
meet.
We’re coming together to show our commitment to the brighter future
we know is possible.

French Energy Minister Ségolène Royal has
vowed to push on with the UN climate summit, saying it is more
important now than ever.
Let’s do everything we can to create the greatest, biggest,
most beautiful climate march in history. Let’s weave threads
of light across the world. Let’s make sure our world leaders can hear
us.
Invite your friends, family and neighbours. Rally your colleagues
over morning coffee. Recruit people from your temple, church, mosque
or synagogue, from your school, university, book club, walking club,
birdwatching or soccer club – the more people, the stronger our
collective voice!
