I'm Jenaan from AIESEC Pune , INDIA and we're running our SECOND cycles of our HIV/AIDS and Children's projects, named GENESIS and PROJECT SMILE respectively.
We're looking for some really enthusiastic, innovative, dedicated and hardworking people to help us IMPACT these issues.
HIV/AIDS is something that is becoming increasingly predominant day by day and the condition of the CHILDREN in our city is only deteriorating. Child labour, the condition of street children, child trafficking, education, the rapid spread of HIV/AIDS the stigma attached to it which is the main cause of death of the HIV+ people, needs some pro-active and smart individuals to help us UNITE and actually MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
We're looking at partnering with specific LCs who can provide just that!

Do you think you can raise around 15 SNs (per PBOX) for us who would come down to our beautiful country any time between the 20th of October and the 20th of November for a period of 3-4 months ?
The job-roles which we are raising are as follows:
PROJECT SMILE (Children):
1. Project and Event Management:
This would primarily consist of organizing events to spread awareness, or conducting programmes for the education of underprivileged children.
2. Rehabilitation, Counseling:
Street children and abused children have to face a lot of social stigma, discrimination, trauma, etc. A lot of NGOs require someone trained in Guidance & Counseling in order to rehabilitate them, as well as train their staff in this field.
3. Research and Documentation:
This would consist of research on the most common problems faced by children in our city, the cause, whether preventive measures are being taken or not, education, etc, and proper documentation of this information.
4. Fund Raising:
A lot of organizations have small schools to educate street children, or homeless children. They often require funds for the proper functioning of these schools, and also to expand them in order to reach out to more children.
Fund Raising as a job role is often clubbed with another in order to give interns experience in the 'field' as well.
GENESIS (HIV/AIDS):

1) Education and Awareness |
|
Design Youth Specific interactive, innovative events/Strategies for HIV prevention and AIDS care. He/She is going to work with youth to come up with workshops/seminars about gender, sexuality and HIV/AIDS.
The main job task would be preparing HIV/AIDS education and awareness material in consultation with the Project Manager. The intern is also expected to conduct group discussions, seminars on HIV/AIDS. Factors that influence perceptions of sexuality, among the youth.

2 ) Counseling/guidance/Training |
|
ü The intern has to come up with training programmes/Modules about HIV/AIDS. He/She has to help in mobilizing the youth.
ü The intern also has to build the confidence of these people and also their family members and come up with income generation activities for these people. Give knowledge to the family members of the infected person as to how to take care of the patient and also in the end of his traineeship document the whole project.
ü To Initiate a Sustenance Programme for the organization, which would involve activities like Training for the organization staff, in necessary skills like fundraising, project management.
ü Will be visiting the patients, maintaining a record; help in analyzing the psychological aspect and helping them through it.

3) Advocacy and Networking |
|
ü To lay the foundation for a structured and sustained alternate employment program for HIV AIDS commercial sex workers and also create and implement a sustenance program for the organization.
ü The trainee would be required to engage in assisting existing processes and programs. This would entail management and development, consolidation and strengthening of a national Youth Network of Advocates whose primary aim is to promote awareness for young people's sexual and reproductive health and rights. The trainee would also be involved in policy analysis and comparative studies. |

4 )Management Information Systems |
|
ü Update a digital database. ü Building up the website of the NGO. |
|
|
|
5) Research /Assessment |
|
ü Cross-cultural comparison and perspectives, Youth Perception and correlation to infection rates. ü Treatment and rehabilitation methods.
Each trainee will also go through a structured learning process through innovative learning events which will guide them through the THEORETICAL learning and PRACTICAL experiences . These will be conducted by people who're experienced in the respective fields, and will ensure maximum LEARNING and CONTRIBUTION of each intern.
