Hello everyone,
I am curious about how FDS solves the wall surface temperature if I fix the convective heat transfer coefficient at the wall surface as a constant and turn off the radiation to the wall.
The code I used for fixing hc is
HEAT_TRANSFER_COEFFICIENT="constant"
And the way to turn off the radiation at the wall is
EMISSIVITY=0
Kind responses will be much appreciated.
Regards

The same way it does if you didn't specify a fixed heat transfer coefficient. Specifying a fixed h just means FDS doesn't compute an h using the correlations given in the Guides, the rest of the calcuation at the wall does not change.  If your thermal boundary condition is fixed temperature (TMP_FRONT), it will still be that fixed temperature. If you have specified a heat flux, FDS will still compute the wall temperature needed to give that heat flux. If you have specified a MATL, FDS will still solve the 1D heat conduction equation.

Thanks a lot, now I understand it.
