HRR DEVICE

Salve,

avrei bisogno di una mano per un progetto universitario per la mia tesi. Praticamente ho bisogno di calcolare l'HRR in diversi punto di una colonna in acciaio che è stata modellata come adiabatic surface ma se inserisco il Heat release Rate device l'analisi mi da errore con dicitura "HRR non trovato" mentre se inserisco una termocoppia con quantità Heat release rate per unit volume mi da  tutti 0, mentre per heat release rate per unit lenght mi escono dei risultati molto piccoli. qualcuno potrebbe spiegarmi qual è la differenza tra i due dispositivi e se c'è qualcosa di particolare che dovrei spuntare/aggiungere? Grazie.

It isn't clear exactly what you have done.  What is the DEVC input you tried to use?

Ho fatto le seguenti prove:

Device numero 1: New thermocouple con quantità heat release rate per unit lengh--> risultato: Valore di RHR molto piccoli

Device numero 2: new thermocouple con quantità heat release rate per unit volume-> risultato : valore RHR nullo

Device numero 3: new heat release rate device -> risulato: errore dell'analisi "HRR non trovato".

Allego gli screen delle impostazioni usate per i diversi device.

1. and 2. The device inputs have the correct syntax. Without knowing the rest of your .fds file (not the .psm file), can't tell you what is happening. A few possibilities:

 

a. Did you pick a valid location? HRRPUV and HRRPUL are gas phase quantities. If your XYZ puts the devices inside of a solid, then they will measure zero.

b. Do you have a fire in your simulation? Make sure you have a fire present in your input file and that is is producing heat release. 

c. If you do have a fire, is it large enough that you have heat release in the area you are trying to measure? 

3. This looks like a question you need to ask of Thunderhead Engineering via their support. You may have some mismatch of fds version and Pyrosim version.
