Hi,

I had a doubt regarding isosurfaces. I wanted to know if the iso
file getting created can be visualized by tecplot too or is it only
for smokeview?? My conception is that iso file is a binary file and
can't be opened in tecplot. Just want to know if I am correct.
Thank you very much
Raj. R

"I have a question regarding ..."

In English, to say you have a doubt implies that you do not believe
something. In this case, you have a question, not a doubt. In answer
to your question, the file format for isosurfaces is unique to
Smokeview. The format of this file is given in the Appendix of the FDS
User's Guide, because it is FDS, not Smokeview, that creates the file.

Hi Raj,

a simple way to create isosurfaces using tecplot is to convert an
ascii file made with fds2ascii, in order to respect the tecplot input
file format.

This can be done easily for PL3D files for instance, but it requires
more postprocessing to convert isosurface files generated by FDS. In
this case, you'll have to write a small fortran program like fds2ascii
to do the job.
