Paid alternatives to Pyrosim

Hello,

I am an engineer and I use FDS for work. I've used this forum a lot in the past by reading the various threads without signing up , but now I have a question for which I couldn't find the answer.

I would like to buy a paid professional software to speed up the creation of .fds files.

I am aware of the existence of several free software (various addons for AutoCAD, BlenderFDS etc.) but I would like to rely on a paid software for the greater support provided.

I know that the best known program is Pyrosim, but I would like to know what are the other alternatives available, to be able to compare the various features and the cost.

I tried to do a google search, but without too much success. I could only find one other Pyrosim alternative software (CYPE).

Is there any other software a part from these two? Have you by chance tried one that you liked? Or maybe some others that you didn't like?

I think the Third-Party Tools page is pretty up-to-date.  But if someone has something to add, let me know.

Yes, I've checked that page, and (if I'm not mistaken) the only two paid software are Pyrosim and CYPE.

Hi Andrea,

I don't know your expectations and needs, however WizFDS was created with assumption that it must speed up and automatize fds file creation. We're using it all the time and we create several dozen scenarios per month for various buildings ...

The most important thing here is library - so you can create entities in AutoCAD on specific layers and all other properties are automatically imported from library. I think this is the clue ... so you don't waste your time on setting up every time your materials, layers, vents, results, and other ...

BTW. We thought to make WizFDS commercial software but open source idea is just better :) ... like FDS :)

Hi Andrea,

What function are you specifically in need? If you have a compartment and want to make small changes for creating thousands different scenarios, that might be done by automatized scripts (e.g. Python  - freeware). Is that something you would like to do?

Idon't have any specific function in mind, I would like a software that takes care of more or less all the setting of the FDS input file, so that it can also be used by those who are not already familiar with the FDS commands.

(don't worry, I know it is important to check the .fds file anyway, and I would, but if, for example, a colleague were to help me, they could do it using the GUI software, and then I would also check the .fds file)

In any case, I will take a closer look at the free alternatives , like WizFDS - thanks Mateusz
