Is there a simple way to change the colour of the SOOT MASS FRACTION from Black to perhaps Blue?

I have developed a model of an old (dis-used) Victorian Prison shortly to be opened to the public as a museum and am using FDS to demonstrate the way in which the stack ventilation system in the cells was designed to work. I am using the soot mass fraction to indicate the movement of the air in the system rather than langrian particles which are a little too course for my purposes. The model works well but, to the layman who has no interest in the the subtleties of the model itself, it looks as if I am gassing the prisoners!

There is an albedo parameter in the 3Dsmoke dialog box.  The closer to 1 the more white the smoke will be.  I don't think there is an RGB control for the smoke (though Glenn I am sure will correct me on this if I am wrong).

You can do it using colour maps. Under 3D smoke, select 'show color map' and 'use color-map without constraints'. There are pre-configured color maps to choose from, or you can make your own.

Thanks Dave.  I misinterpreted that radio button.

Thank you Jason and Dave!

It took me a few attempts but I now have beautiful blue smoke in my model, representing breathable warm air, (see attachment) and I now know what albedo means.

what type of file are you loading in smokeview to visualize SOOT MASS FRACTION?
