Problem: Obstructions change geometry when fds is exported from pyrosim.

Hi,

I meet a problem when I use PyroSim to create a geometry and export FDS file. Then when I import the FDS file, the geometry location is changed. 

For example on pyrosim I have a hole with following dimensions:

X                    Y                    Z

10.6             18.5               14

11.2             19.5               16

Once i export FDS file the hole dimensions change and become as follow:

X                    Y                    Z

10.5             18.5               13.8

11                 19.5               15.8

because of this problem, the smoke is not going outside of the room since the opening is not in the wall anymore

Can any one help me to solve the problem? Thanks!

Just edit your FDS file directly and put the hole where you want it to be.  You must make sure your grid and HOLE or OBST align.  FDS will snap to the nearest Cartesian cell.  Toggle "q" in Smokeview to see what you input and what FDS ultimately uses.
