I think that I usually run without the fire mesh (no "&" above).
Thus, I did not notice that the fire mesh was sealed and that
is not always good for a fds run. The problem might also be
that some evacuation mesh is totally inside some fire mesh,
(or was it the other way around), see the discussion thread:

the next maintenance/minor release of FDS (fds 5.4.4 or 5.5.0,
which ever will be the next one).
