I'm new with fds and pyrosim and I have a question. I would like to
know what are the differences between a thermocouple and a gas-phase
device that measures the temperature.

Thanks and sorry for my noob question.

Search the FDS User's Guide for THERMOCOUPLE.

Hi José,

Temperature devices measure the pure gas temperature, whereas
thermocouple devices
act like a physical thermocouple bead does by accounting for radiation losses
and thermal lag as the bead heats up. Themocouples (NOT temperature
devices) should be used when comparing FDS to experimental data.

Cheers Mohamed.
