If I stop a simulation by creating the .stop file, can I modify the
input file to increase the simulation time and restart it without
problem?

Should work. Easy way to find out is to run your input for a few time
steps, stop it, change the input, and restart it. If it works, the
answer is yes.

Hi,

What should we write on the command line to restart a calculation in
FDS? Would typing just the same line as we did on the first run do?

For example:

1- We start the calculation by writing "fds5 sample.fds"
2- Stop it by creating a dummy file named "sample.stop" in the same
directory as the input file
3- Restart it by writing "fds5 sample.fds"

so that everything starts from where it stopped, e.g from 900th time
step.

Would this procedure work?

Thanks,

Bora

Dear All

The stop and restart functions work properly in FDS serial version,
but I experience problems in parallel version. It don't work.
