Dear All

I am currently trying to work on this FDS file to improve my knowledge of FDS as a part of my MSc. project. This file was originally done in FDS 4 , therefore i am trying to adapt it to FDS6 and study the results.. I have managed to convert most of the file except for the mesh alignment error. Every time i try running it it gives me an error saying mesh 1 not aligned with mesh 4 etc .. can i get some advice on how to resolve this ?? please find attached file

Sorry, but what is your question?  I think it is clear in the FDS User Guide (Sec. 6.3.4) how the meshes must be aligned.

Yes, they were different.  The fourth example in the current guide was permissible in v4.

Hi Brian,

The most obvious problem is that the cells in the different meshes are all of a different size, so they can't align. Your easiest route would be to make a mesh with 0.125 m cells in the region of the fire. Then surround it with meshes that have cells 0.25 m.

You'll have to change to dimensions of the existing meshes, so they are divisible by 0.125 m. Start with the central one, and work outward from it.

Ya I am changing the number of divisions in the outer meshes to make them all 0.25
