Hi all, is it possible to activate a damper based on the local temperature in the duct?  I am currently activating the damper based on a device in the mesh next to the vent.  Is it possible to place a device in the duct to pick up local temperature....however having thought about it, as there is no temperature lose in a HVAC duct may as well just use the device at the vent...any thoughts on this would be welcome.  Many thanks  Matt,

Currently there is no duct heat transfer and the duct temperature will just be the temperature of the upstream node.  The duct temperature will represent the average temperature over the VENT assuming the flow is from the VENT into the duct.  You could use DUCT TEMPERATURE, NODE TEMPERATURE (where the node is the one attached to vent), or TEMPERATURE with XB covering the vent and SPATIAL_STATISTIC of VOLUME MEAN.

Many thanks as always Jason. Much appreciated.
