Hello all,
I am working on a project to understand the exposure of toxic gases released in compartment fires. Right now I am using FDS and incrementally building toward the goal of modeling the actual combustion process and release of the toxic gases.
The first step was to release two separate gases from a VENT in a small room by specifying for example(flux values were chosen arbitrarily for test purposes): MASS_FLUX(1)=0.03, SPEC_ID(1)='CARBON MONOXIDE', MASS_FLUX(2)=0.04,SPEC_ID(2)='HYDROGEN FLUORIDE'.
My question then is first will heavier gasses loft at different heights after a long period of time? Secondly, can I introduce an additional chemical reaction in the simulation, for instance LiPF.6 + H.2O -> LiF + POF.3 + 2HF ?
Thanks, Jesse.
