Hi,

I am trying to figure out if the FED (fractional effective dose)
device output from an FDS simulation is cumulative or not, ie. whether
i need to sum the FED for each timestep to find out the FED that an
occupant would have been exposed to in a particular location if they
stayed there for the duration of the simulation. I have read Section
14.3.9 of the User's Guide and skimmed through Purser's chapter in the
SFPE handbook and can't quite make sense of it. Here's a sample line
from my script of the device I've set up.

&DEVC XYZ= 26.0, 55.0, 1.0, QUANTITY='FED', ID='FED 1' /

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Burton

FED is a time integrated quantity, so yes it is the cumulative value at that static XYZ location.
