Hello,

Is there any way to make obstacles into transparent? I set RGB=(0,0,0) and it did not work.

Thanks in advance.

See paragraph 10.2.6 of the Users' Guide.

Thanks Emanuele for your response. I went through this section and I wanted to explain my requirements in more detail. Please correct me if I am wrong. Here is my apparatus.

  • I need to have a fire with certain intensity.
  • To do that I need to have a VENT to insert the SURF ID of the fire.
  • To have a VENT I need to create an obstacle as in the picture and on top of that I create a VENT. But this obstacle is solid and nothing passes through it.
  •  But I need to pass (under gravity) the cylinder above the fire through the fire. I can't do it because of the solid OBSTACLE. Again if I make a HOLE there I can't create a fire in the mouth of the HOLE. Can I?
Thanks in advance.

I can tell you how to make the fire without an obstacle, but how are you going to move the cylinder?

Hi Kevin,

I am trying to use the method in dragon_5a example case by including PART ID and INIT PART ID to initiate the cylindrical particle.

OK, then you can create a "burner" by creating a volume of particles shaped like a short cylinder, and assign the particles an HRRPUA, and make them STATIC. Other particles that are not STATIC will just fall through.
