Christmas tree pick-up

Greetings, neighbor, information below on Christmas tree pick up, compliments of our neighbor Julie Graybill of Faubourg Marengo Neighborhood Association:

Christmas trees will soon be collected for recycling across Southeast Louisiana to help restore wetlands. General guidelines for curbside pickup:

 • No flocked trees

 • No artificial trees

 • No painted trees

 • Remove all ornaments, lights, garland and tinsel

 • Remove tree stands and plastic bags

 
Dec. 26-Jan. 4: Call 311 and request “Christmas Tree” pickup. A contractor will collect the first 400 trees.
 
Jan. 6-9: Place trees curbside by 5 a.m. on your regular garbage day. A recycling truck will follow.
