Anyone ever have delayed-reaction dry heaves after a run? I finished my run, bought a pretzel, had a few bites, walked the two blocks home, got inside, and -- heaves! Strange. I think I was running a lot faster than usual -- thanks, ChiRunning!! -- so I'm not questioning the heaves, only the fact that they occurred five minutes after the run, instead of five seconds.
Anyone? Anyone?
Marci
PS: Hoping to get a blog post about ChiRunning up soon!

I had this happen before when I was in basic training, it is because of a changing your breathing patterns while running. When it happened to me it was because I was use to running but not use to running and singing cadence.  I haven't read a lot about chi running, but I know that it does have a breathing element. As your body transitioned back to its normal pattern and intake levels (combined with the act of eating and swallowing) it likely triggered a reflex.  This will go away with continued training.  If it doesn't, be sure to see a doctor as it could be a more serious medical condition.
