I had this happen before when I was in basic training, it is because of a changing your breathing patterns while running. When it happened to me it was because I was use to running but not use to running and singing cadence. I haven't read a lot about chi running, but I know that it does have a breathing element. As your body transitioned back to its normal pattern and intake levels (combined with the act of eating and swallowing) it likely triggered a reflex. This will go away with continued training.
