Steve - so sorry to find out about the difficult slow end to your Boston run. We've all had races like that and I'm sure you'll bounce right back.

I took some time to look at the videos you posted and you looked great, even if you didn't feel so good. Also saw the Wellesley girls. Um... THAT's that "gauntlet"? Oh, my; how sad. Really, Steve, you gotta come to my town. Come run NYC. When you come off the 59th street bridge and hit 1st avenue, even coming last in the pack, you will encounter a veritable sonic bodyslam. The crowds gathered are AMAZING and LOUD. What you call the "gauntlet" at Wellesley college, I call an average mile in NYC. Come on, man! Come run with us! :D

I have to say I agree with Cris. NOTHING compares to the REAL gauntlet on 1st in NYC!

I'm running that again this year. I can't WAIT! I ran it in 2006 and had a blast, but ran with a friend and kind of wanted to do it alone to have a different experience. I'm so excited.

Interesting article here on how the idea of the World Marathon Majors is a dud. Not sure I agree, but it is interesting reading.
