Yellow top tubes

Hi All!!

  Due to some inconsistencies with our in house urine cytologies and Idexx cultures coming back "no growth", we are trying out some new tubes for urine cultures only. They are the yellow top tubes that are located in the drawer with the other large, outside lab tubes. If you aren't sure where this is, please ask a nurse. They contain a type of medium that is suppose to help keep bacteria alive. Please only use them if know you will be submitting a culture to Idexx. Please let me know what you think of them if you happen to use them or if you have any questions. If we like them and feel that we are getting more accurate results with our cultures, we will probably start carrying them on a regular basis.
