Invitation to Participate in the Annual Mercy Day of Service March 1-7, 2026

Each year on March 5, Mercy celebrates the Annual Mercy Day of Service in honor of Sister Mary Roch Rocklage, whose legacy of leadership and compassion continues to inspire our ministry. Sister Roch, Mercy’s first president and CEO, dedicated her life to serving others and strengthening health care across the nation. Although she passed away in August 2022, her impact continues to guide us.
As part of this celebration, we invite each Mercy community to partner with local organizations to offer meaningful service opportunities for our caregivers and leaders during the week of March 1–7.
We would be honored to include your organization in this year’s list of volunteer opportunities. This list will be shared ministry‑wide with Mercy caregivers and leaders. Most opportunities qualify for our caregivers to use their 8 hours of annual Volunteer Time Off (VTO)—a benefit available to all Mercy employees.
If your organization would like to participate, please reply by February 20, 2025, and include the following:
* A brief description of the volunteer service needed
* Available dates and time slots
* Your agencies Volunteer Coordinator Contact name and telephone number
* Any additional details helpful for volunteers
Feel free to forward this invitation to other organizations in our community that may benefit from Mercy volunteers.

REMINDER:
Mercy is still seeking volunteer opportunities for our Annual Day of Service, and we would love to support organizations in our community. It’s not too late to register your agency or organization for this year’s event.
If your organization could benefit from an extra set of hands during the week of March 2-6, our Mercy volunteers are ready to help with tasks such as:
- Cleaning or organizing a food pantry
- Sorting clothing or donations
- Refreshing outdoor spaces
- Exterior landscaping, debris removal
- Planting flowers or pulling weeds
- Light maintenance or minor repairs
- Administrative filing or light clerical work
- Bundling or bagging orders for fulfillment
- Helping with activities
- Preparing or serving meals
If you have a project—big or small—that could use support from us, please let me know. We’d be honored to partner with you and help make a positive impact.
