Halloween crew pumpkins. Like rowing an 8 at sunset! | Basteln

Fall is upon us and there is more rowing to be had along with festivities.  Best wishes to all brave enough to row The Ache this weekend!!  While your hands heal remember to save the dates below…..

  • Stern & Bow:  Looking Back and Forward, a part to celebrate our new and continuing members, our accomplishments, and to look forward to new seasons of rowing and club activities.  On Saturday, October 29th, 4-7pm at the Empire Grange Hall, 2306 W. Mulberry St, Ft C come as your favorite rower in the spirit of Halloween.  It will be a potluck and BYOB and all are invited as it is family friendly.  Outlets for crock pots are available. See if you can top the carved topic above by bringing your rowing-inspired Jack -O-Lantern.
  • The Wichita Frostbite Regatta is Sunday, November 6th in Wichita, Kansas.  Please let Coach Mark or Jamie know as soon as possible if you plan to join the crew(s) on the Little Arkansas River through town.
  • Sunday, November 13th is Winterizing Day on the dock.  Docks and boats need to be moved and everything needs to be strapped down to prep for winds and freezes.  We are in need of several large diameter PVC pipes about 10 feet in length to use to roll the docks up on the concrete boat ramp.  This should make our wooden docks last longer.
  • End of Season Social and Planning Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th at 6pm at Jamie’s house, 3108 Barn Swallow Circle, Ft. C.  More info to come but plan on a potluck and having great minds think alike.
