Hi there!

The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is a non-profit organisation at the forefront of the movement to replace the products of industrial animal agriculture with plant-based, fermentation-made and cultivated foods. Industrial animal agriculture is at the root of many of the most pressing global issues of our time, from climate change and global hunger, to increased disease risk and the exploitation of billions of animals annually.

***** We are looking for a Science and Technology Community Coordinator to start as soon as possible *****

If you are excited about the ground-breaking research behind sustainable proteins, and love to build relationships and interact with a wide range of people, this position would be well suited for you. You don’t necessarily need to have an advanced degree as long as you have some background in a relevant science or engineering field (BSc or equivalent). This is a full-time, permanent role, with a lot of flexibility in terms of work schedule and location (home-based/remote from anywhere in Europe).

This is a varied position that involves working across a wide range of tasks. You will have a lot of opportunities for professional development and to take on responsibilities, as well as autonomy in how you manage your time and complete tasks and projects. It is an exciting time to join our rapidly growing organisation, and you’ll work closely with our SciTech Manager who line-manages this post.

To be successful in this role, these are the things that will matter the most:

* Having an interest in the science behind sustainable proteins, and an ability to get up to speed in understanding how they are produced.
* Being a strong communicator (in writing and verbally), with excellent networking, interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building abilities.
* Having a strategic mind, and looking for the highest-impact avenues for growing the scientific research community and future technical talent pipeline.

We want the best people and we don’t want biases holding us back. We strongly encourage people of every colour, orientation, age, gender, origin, and ability to apply. Because we value a diverse workplace, we prioritise an inclusive climate absent of discrimination and harassment during the application process and after you join the team.

For more information about this role and to see the full list of responsibilities and requirements, please check out the full job description on our website (gfieurope.org/careers/scitech-community-coordinator/) and if you have any questions, join members of our team for a live Q&A on Thursday 10 February at 8 pm CET: https://zoom.us/j/95048107788

Good luck and thanks!

Alex
