Dear FCRN members,

I have been wanting to post for a while - hello! It's my first time posting here. I'm glad this group exists and links scholars around the world.

I wrote a piece that was published as a journal article in Urban Studies last year, and which has since been released in May as part of a special issue on environmental governance for urban resilience in the Asia-Pacific. It details some learnings I received through practice-based work. I'd be curious how useful it is to other researchers.

A short summary: the paper includes provocations and ideas for the formation of edible urban commons, in cities where cultures for them have been erased or are in decline. It suggests latent capacities that can be developed, to encourage them to emerge again and draws on examples from Singapore. I'd be curious what resonates in other contexts.

If you have the chance to read it, your feedback and comments will be valued!

While I’m here - I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions of scholars who work on food, commons, and related issues in Asia…? Please let me know your suggestions, or shout out if you're here!

(It is not open-access - so please write me if you need to get beyond the paywall)

My best to all,
Huiying
