Yes, alternative proofs would be a great topic for discussion. I try
very hard not to "break" the logical structure of the theorems and
definitions in the book, but I'm always on the lookout for better, or
novel, proofs. Sometimes an alternate proof makes a nice exercise:
"Give an alternate oroof of Theorem XYZ by using...." Start a new
topic and give it a descriptive subject line, maybe including the
relevant acronym.
I'd really like to keep the topics to linear algebra, but as the group
grows there's no reason the collective knowledge can't be used
sometimes as a resource for related topics.
