I hope to be elected Managing Director of Formative Change Group so that we can make FCG the best way for Batten to give back to the Charlottesville community and for students to build consulting skills. I hope to be able to bring my own consulting experience and knowledge of Charlottesville to bear to build on the success of this past year. As Managing Director, my main goal would be to get more FCG members involved in making decisions, planning activities, and developing clients for the group. I want to make sure that the club works for the students, and that people are engaged with the overall direction of the club.

With FCG, I have worked with BankOn as a client. As an analyst, I have submitted deliverables on-time and been professional in client meetings. I have taken the Consulting short course while working to develop FCG's strategic plan, demonstrating my understanding and investment in the 18-month vision. Prior to working with FCG, I have developed a budget and maintained an 16-member executive team as the Chairman of a statewide organization. I have also successfully enacted a fundraising plan that raised over $3,500. I feel that, moving forward, I can put together FCG's budget and ensure that funds are used both effectively and efficiently. I plan on developing metrics and indicators of performance to gauge the effectiveness of budget dollars. I also plan on exploring opportunities to generate revenue from clients, donors, and others invested in the success of Charlottesville-area organizations. With this component, I feel confident that as FCG's Director of Finance, I can maintain stable finances over the next year while increasing the long-term sustainability of FCG's efforts.
