All,

Please excuse the mass email, I just figured this would be easier since everyone who contacted me is on our mailing list. I received numerous emails and phone calls from AREA 13 residents and NHW members asking what they could do for Officer Ryan Burns and his family. At this point in time the members of the Police Department are providing meals and services such as shopping, day care and snow shoveling for the family.  Below are options if you wish to donate monetarily to Officer Burns' fund.

Thank you all for your concern and offers for assistance, it does mean allot to all of us at APD having your support.

Tim

As you can read below, APD Officer Ryan Burns was shot in the line of duty on Friday, November 14th, 2014. Ryan is currently in the hospital and is facing several surgeries to his leg and may be unable to work for the next 8-10 months. Thankfully he will recover from his wounds.

Ryan is a respected Police Officer and has been employed with the City of  Aurora since 2003. Ryan is married to a wonderful woman and has 5 fantastic kids all under the age of 12, Ryan is the sole supporter of his family.

We, members of the Aurora Police Department, are doing what we can to support Ryan and would like to invite everyone in the City of Aurora (and beyond) to assist the Burns family through a truly traumatic experience and to alleviate any financial hardship in the future. Currently meals and services for the Burns family are being attended to while Ryan is in the hospital.

Monetary donations can be made online via the gofundme link below, just click on the link below, it's very simple and quick. The attached flyer also has information for donations to be accepted at three Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement Credit Union locations. Anything helps, $10-$20 per donation would be great.

Donations will also be accepted in person at the following locations withing the Aurora police Department.

APD District 1  - 13347 E. Montview Blvd. Contact Lt. Jad Lanigan

APD District 2  - 15001 E Alameda Pkwy    Contact Sgt. Dave Cernich
