Neighborhood Watch News

In an effort to keep our citizens and Communities safer, the Aurora Police Department PAR unit offers free security surveys. We would be more than happy to come to your residence or place of business and suggest ways to make your property a less desirable target to criminals. Taking steps to reduce a criminal’s opportunity lessens the likelihood of becoming a victim in the future. Please contact me with any questions or to set up an appointment.

Neighborhood Watch Meetings…

Crime Tip of the Week… Lock Up!

Before you leave your home for the day (Work, School, Play) lock up! Many burglaries occur because windows and doors are not completely locked. Lock the door that leads from your garage to your house. Just because the garage door is closed doesn’t mean your home is secure. If you have a front screen door, lock it as well. Many of the burglaries in Aurora are “Door Kicks” where the bad guys will knock on a front door, not get an answer from inside and then kick in the front door. By securing the screen door they would have to go through two doors and they can’t use the opened screen door to shield their activities. Remember, in the ocean, sharks feed where there is a good food source. If we cut off the food supply the sharks will go somewhere else to feed…..like in another City. So far (knock on wood) we in Area 13 have fared well in our burglary statistics so we’re doing what we should.

The dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price.
