Hello everyone. My name is, Tim Jeffrey, and I am your PAR (Police Area Representative) Officer for Patrol Area 13 and 19. The District 2 P.A.R. unit would like to express our condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of A.P.D. Officer Bill Pontious who passed away of natural causes on Wednesday July 30th, 2014. Bill had been an APD Officer for 20 years, coming from L.A.P.D. via Groton Connecticut. Bill was an avid mountain biker and led the APD contingent that participated in the Police Unity Tour that benefitted the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.
Bill was a good friend, a great man and officer and he will be missed by all of those who knew him.
