Hello Mga Kaibigan,
Here is an update on upcoming and in-progress FCEN activities. This one's got a lot of stuff going on!
.
NEWS AND CALLOUTS
1) Mailing List -- I'm going to be shifting to using Google Groups for sharing information, so please check your spam box soon for a notice about being added to googlegroups.com. Depending on your reply to the original registration Google Form, you may find yourself subscribed to more than one Google Group including:

If you do not see an invite, go to https://groups.google.com/g/fcen-kapwa and request to be added to the group.  TCDSB emails may have some difficulty and may wish to use a non-TCDSB email.
.
2) Fil Can Heritage Month and Asian Heritage Month
Please message me at fil.can.educ...@gmail.com to represent!
.
3) Lived experiences at the TCDSB
We need your stories! The form has been revised to make it easier to share your experiences. Please check out again and fill out ASAP for our meeting with TCDSB HR and Brendan Browne in April. https://forms.gle/FZprm1R88a5Vz7W19
.
2) March 19:  Kabangka - Kanto Kuwentuhan
Join Kabangka's mentorship team and its inspiring panel of speakers as they talk about what it means to be a Filipina/o/x-Canadian and explore non-traditional career paths.

3) In addition to the above, Kabangka is looking for mentors! Please see images in the attached link for more information. It would be an amazing opportunity to connect with youth and inspire them in a meaningful way.

4) March 23 -  Kapwa Literature Circle:  Are you as excited as I am? Do you have your copy of the article yet?

Our first meeting will be on March 23rd at 7 pm! If you are interested and cannot make it, feel free to read the paper anyway and connect with us next time. Here is the Zoom link: https://tcdsb.zoom.us/j/96717999501

To kick us off is Fil-American scholar Patricia Espiritu Halagao’s 2010 paper “Liberating Filipino Americans through Decolonizing Curriculum”. In it, she shares the outcomes of working with Pinoy Teach, a program that explored Philippine history, culture, and identity. We read journal articles that are much shorter than novels but also jam-packed with learning and information.

5) March 30 - Mock Interviews and Hot Topics!  A mock interview session will be taking place later this month on March 30th at 7 pm. Accompanying this will be a Hot Topics sheet to help build capacity. Spaces are limited so please register soon!
Here is the form to register: https://forms.gle/4LGzS43vYBAnKBXb7
