This analyst report discusses the now widely used fallacy that the
attacker only has to be right once. In fact, this was given as an
example in 3 out of 5 talks I saw in the last few weeks, and it's time
to stop the folks who are pushing this fear line before it becomes
another social meme propagating without basis into the minds of all
who listen to the sales pitch.

February 18, 2010 - Another ridiculous cyber warfare game to scare
deciders into action

Speaking of sales pitches - few cost as much or get as much play as
the ridiculous cyber warfare game pushed out by CNN and the companies
funding the bipartisan efforts of several previous members of White
house staff. But fear not - they were never that well thought of when
they were in office - and their attempts to regain their reputation by
appearing on this CNN special tells us why they were never that good
in the first place. With advice like this, we would be going to war
whenever blackberries fail.

Digital Forensic Evidence Examination - 2nd edition will soon be
released

It seems like it was just yesterday that the first edition of this
book went out. The next edition will be released some time in March
and contains a lot of new and improved material.

These are the slides that reprise the Catalyst 2009 talk. Only slight
updates were required for the CBA forum - a lively group who didn't
have a market crash because they were doing a better job of managing
risks. If only the US bankers would have asked for the talk, maybe
they wouldn't have had such a massive problem...
