Hello All,

New release 0.11.2 is available for linux computers. Sources and
debian packages (for both i386 and amd64 platforms) are available at
http://www.fbreader.org/beta.php

This release
* fixes a crash on amd64 platform
* uses new protocol for a communication with http://www.litres.ru/;
new features like authorization and direct (without a browser) book
buying will be available in the near future
* fixes some small UI bugs

Best,

Hi,

Would you guys consider adding an ARM (or ARMEL) platform to your
repository? There's a pretty popular little device, called the Smart
Q7 (and Q5) that use an ancient version of FBReader (0.8.x). It's
effectively using a desktop distribution of Ubuntu Karmic Koala, just
for the ARM processor.

The current Koala Ubuntu ARM distribution has 0.10.7 but it won't
update in fullscreen mode, making it less than optimal.

Thanks, either way! FBReader rocks.

Hi,

Yes I know about the problem with fullscreen mode on SmartQ devices
(yes, I saw the bug you submitted). I have no access to any SmartQ
device. Could you please describe the problem in more details? First
of all, what interface is used on your Q7: gtk, qt3, qt4? Did you know
a way to test a SmartQ software in emulator?

Oh, and it is QT 4.5.2.

I found this discussion on the SmartQMid board about emulation:

http://www.smartqmid.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=377

I've never set up an emulator. Someone on the SmartQMid board
suggested that the full-screen bug may be due to Karmic.
Unfortunately, Smart pinned a lot of software, so it's hard to
determine short of individually unpinning until it blows up.

Hi,

I received today my new toy, a smartq 7 device. Now I'm sure 0.11.3
will be released for this device too. I think, the best way is to add
an additional repository at fbreader.org. However I cannot understand
how to install new packages on the device.

Of course I can edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list manually and run
'apt-get update; apt-get install fbreader'. But this way is for
advanced users only. Is there a simple way to add a repository/install
a package I can describe on the fbreader.org?

The short answer is to create a .deb that does those source
steps for you.

Here is a page that has the mythbuntu auto-build repo deb:
http://www.mythbuntu.org/auto-builds

But you can also probably try to get fbreader builds added to
the Mer tree:
