Hey again,

Sorry - hit the send button by mistake... :-)

As i was trying to say:

I might already asked this question - but got no answer:

I am using FBReader 0.8.14-1ubuntu1 on my Kubuntu 8.04.1 desktop.

I pointed the Library Path to a Symlink pointing to a hierarchy of sub-directories...

My library stays empty...

Almost all the files in that path are supported (FB2 or Compressed HTML) and I checked 'Look for books in subdirectories'

Is it possible that symlinks are not supported?!

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Symlinks certainly work - that's how I got my SD card on my EeePC
recognised. (It is mounted as /home/user/D:) I made a symlink between
D: and /home/user/My Documents/Books - all the .prc files on the card
showed up immediately.

Have you tried the Add Book button and navigating to the hierarchy ?

The FB2 ebooks should show up. The zipped HTML won't show up because
FBReader can't reliably extract enough metadata to add them
automatically to the library.

Assuming that you have tried following the softlink manually to
confirm that it is correct, my best guess is that the link is spelled
incorrectly in the path. One thing you could try is to add an actual
directory that contains a few .fb2 ebooks to your path and see if they
are added to the library, for example what happens if you add the
target of the softlink to your book path?
