Announcement: FBReader 0.8.11 and VBAtaxx 0.1

Hello All,

FBReader 0.8.11 is released. As usual, you can download new version
from http://www.fbreader.org/. This release fixes several issues were
discussed in this group last few days.

FBReader is a cross-platform program. In fact the FBReader code is
splitted into 2 parts: the FBReader itself (this code is platform
independent) and 'zlibrary' -- a platform-dependent library currently
implemented for several platforms: Windows/Linux(gtk/qt) desktops,
Sharp Zaurus, Nokia IT, etc. As for demonstration the possibilities of
this library we release a simple zlibrary-based game VBAtaxx. This is
a clone of the well-known Ataxx (or, may be Attax) game. It is
available from our site at http://www.fbreader.org/zlibrary/vbataxx .

So *that's* what it does: UI! I always thought 'zlibrary' had something to
do with data compression. :-)

Any idea why the toolbar icon transparency doesn't work on Maemo? It's
visible on this screenshot (at least at certain viewing angles on an LCD
monitor): http://www.fbreader.org/zlibrary/vbataxx/maemo.png

:) Initially it was "Zaurus library". ;) UI is not fully correct -- it
is better to say 'platform-dependent library' -- this includes UI,
filesystem access, data compression, unicode utils, etc.

There is the same issue for FBReader on my N800/OS2008. Does
transparency work for FBReader toolbar icons on your device?

No -- but then my device is N800 running OS2008.

I don't think OS2007 used gradients in the toolbar, so I can't tell if
transparency used to work there or not.

In short, at least give the penguin a fair viewing. If you still don't
