Just to see what might be done to replace some of the obsolete Java-based interactive functionality in the FBNavigator, I did an HTML5/CSS/Javascript-based animation of the old Sortation/Inspection testbed. It's at  http://www.holobloc.com/webMVCD/testbed.htm.

You may find it interesting - or at least entertaining for a couple of minutes.

I've found it to work on Firefox, Chrome and Opera for Windows 10; Firefox and Chromium for Bodhi Linux; and Iceweasel/Firefox for Raspbian. It doesn't work on any of the browsers that use Webkit rendering, e.g., Safari or any of the iOS-based browser apps. It might work on Firefox for Android, but I haven't tested it there.

Hi Jim,

this is really cool and fun. We did some experiments with MQTT in the browser using the Eclipse Paho client and websockets. Combining this with your work you could get web-based simulation and visualization of the model and control it via mqtt using IEC 61499.

Alois

Dear Jim

This is quite interesting. I always think we should define standard HMI FB Components for interoperability. This could be quite useful for that purpose. FBSRT support direct Web Socket connection to external HMIs. Also, we include 3D animation inside HMI FBs as shown below. I guess we could support FBDK as well.

Best Regards,

William
