Unity in the Body of Christ/ A prayer for FBCRPB

S ~ John 17:21 Jesus prayed "that they all may be one, as You,
Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that
the world may believe that You sent Me."

O ~ This was the last part of a very long prayer Jesus had prayed just
after the last supper and prior to His arrest in the garden. His
prayer for all believers is that we would all be as one. God's
perfect will is for His believers to be unified in Christ Jesus, just
as God and Jesus are united. When we are unified, we show love
towards one another and team ship. Only by the power of God can this
type of relationship happen, especially with a large group of people.
And when a group of people are working together and showing love
toward and for each other, Jesus is glorified. This is what being the
"Body of Christ" is all about.

A ~ I must do all I can to bring unity amongst the people of our
church - by allowing the fruit of the Spirit to shine through me and
teaching others about it as well.

P ~ "Dear Lord, thank You for Your awesome plan of unity. I know this
is Your perfect plan for those who love You. Yet, in this world we
fail every day in many ways. I pray specifically for our own church
body of RPB. May Your Spirit remain with us. Give our pastors and
our leaders Your wisdom and insight to know how to best govern Your
body. Help them to discern were problems may be and give them Your
love and wisdom to best correct those who need correction. I ask for
Your Spirit of unity to bond us together through the power of Your
love as we work together as a body in obedience to Your Word. Please
bless our pastors and their families, our leaders, our people, and
please bind us together as one with You in Your love so that You may
be glorified. In Jesus' Name I pray ~ Amen.
