Curious about solar energy? Ever wondered how a solar panel works?
Have a solar project and want to get advice from experts? Then this
workshop is for you!
Falls Brook Centre, with special guest Dr. Richard Komp, president of
Sunwatt Solar Systems and the Maine Solar Energy Association, will be
hosting a workshop on solar energy. Dr. Komp has 50 years of solar
industry and research experience, and will be providing participants
with an understanding of the ins and outs of solar energy.
The workshop will include an overview of solar energy in its many
aspects – passive solar, solar hot air and hot water, and solar
photovoltaic (PV). As an educational opportunity to provide
participants with a greater understanding of how solar PV works, we
will also be constructing a 60 Watt solar panel. Constructing a small
solar hot air unit will also be part of the workshop. The activities
will give participants direct skills in researching and planning solar
electricity and solar thermal applications.
This weekend workshop runs from 9-5 both Saturday and Sunday.
Registration fees are $75 for one day, or $120 for both. Seniors and
students save 50%. Space is limited, so book your spot today!
